The sixth full-length album, "Keeper Of Oblivion", by the renowned Russian old school death metal band BARBARITY, draws heavily from the early 1990s death metal scene, influenced by bands such as Cannibal Corpse during the Chris Barnes era and early Deicide. However, they successfully adapt their sound to contemporary standards without becoming overly catchy, modern, or polished. Instead, the production of "Keeper Of Oblivion" is characterized by a swampy, dark, underground, and grotesque quality. Simultaneously, it possesses a brutal edge reminiscent of bands like Mortal Decay, Immortal Suffering, and Morpheus Descends. This production style effectively enhances the album's material and accentuates specific elements.
