NECROPHAGIST's inaugural album, "Onset Of Putrefaction", originally released in 1999, has been out of circulation for several years and is highly sought after by numerous fans. The 2004 re-release is not merely a reprint; it represents a wholly new edition. The band has eagerly anticipated this moment to fully present the intensity of their compositions, which they felt were somewhat compromised by the technological limitations of their equipment in 1999. The new edition features:
 
- Entirely original drum samples were meticulously recorded, one by one, by Hannes Grossmann of NECROPHAGIST. These samples were subsequently utilized to program the drum machine.

- The classic guitar, bass, and vocal tracks are transformed and merged with the newly updated drum machine, producing a strong, clean, and distinct stereo track.
 
- Two previously unreleased tracks from the self-titled demo tape of 1995 are being included as bonus tracks.
 
- An exceptional mastering performed by Christoph Brandes, the in-house engineer and producer associated with NECROPHAGIST, at The Iguana Studios.

- A completely new piece of art created by Sascha Ehrich, the long-time designer for NECROPHAGIST.
